Species of trees form ectomycorrhizae and native edible ectomycorrhizal fungi in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is located in the subtropical region of South China and has a variety of species of tree form ectomycorrhizae, including Pinaceae, Betulaceae, Fagaceae, Hamamelidaceae and Theaceae plants. Among them, Fagaceae is the most common.

The types of native edible ectomycorrhizal fungi in Hong Kong are species in Russula, Lactarius, Boletus, Suillus, Cantharellus, and Rhizopogon, Hymenogaster, and Scleroderma. The symbiotic relationship with tree species is shown in the following table:
